Playing in the "Hangover Trophy"
on 2nd January 2004, this being the last official competition in his year
of office as Club Captain.
John Davidson played a 7 iron at the third winter green, the ball landed short of the first bunker on the right, took a great leap over the bunker and disappeared.
At this stage due to serious efforts by his playing partners to welcome in the new year they had no idea where the ball had finished.
When they staggered down to the green they discovered the ball in the hole.
